Apache tears are smoke obsidian. According to an Indian legend, these emerged when the Indians were pushed further and further from their homeland by white settlers and lost their last piece of land. They became so sad about it that they shed their tears on their country and these then froze into black droplets. Even today, Apache tears are regarded by the Indians as a symbol of freedom, strength and health.
